(A) 12 km/hr (B) 11 km/hr

Here is your answer...⤵

Let the steamer speed will be x

Downstream speed = (x + 1)

Distance between the points = 5(x-1)⋯(i)

Upstream speed = (x-1)

Distance between the points = 6(x-1)⋯(ii)

on solving (i) and (ii)

5(x + 1) = 6(x-1)

5x + 5 = 6x-6

5x-6x = -6-5

-x = -11

x = 1

∴The steamer speed will be 11km/hr
