Step-by-step explanation:

speed in downstream =x+1

speed in upstream =×-1

distance=y

distance/speed =time

y/×+1=5

y/x-1=6

5x+5=6x-6

when you solve the equation

x=11

Answer:

let speed in still water = x km/h

Let distance = D

Downstream = (x+1) km/h

upstream = (x-1) km/h

a/q,

since distance is same .

D = 5(x+1) = 6(x-1)

5x + 5 = 6x - 6

x = 11 km/h (Ans.)
