Answer:

Hey friend,

Here is the answer you are searching for,

Let speed of steamer in still water be x,

=>Speed downstream = x+1

=>Speed upstream = x-1

Time upstream = 10 hours

Time downstream = 9 hours

=> Distance upstream = 10(x-1)

=> Distance downstream = 9(x+1)

Distance will be same,

=> 9(x+1) = 10(x-1)

=> 9x+9 = 10x-10

=> x = 19 km/h

Therefore,

Speed of steamer in still water = 19km/h.

HOPE IT HELPS YOU.
