Let the speed of steamer in still water be x km/hr

then speed while going upwards

x-2 km/hr

speed while coming downwards

x+2 km/hr

time taken while going upwards=4hrs

time taken while coming downwards=3km/hr

as distance=speed×time

4(x-2)=3(x+2)

4x-8=3x+6

by transportation we get

4x-3x=8+6

x=14

so speed of steamer is 14 km per hour in still water .

hope it helps you bro
