Answer:

Answer:It will take 6 hours to travel 12 km upstream.

Step by step explanation:

Given:

A steamer travels at a speed of 10 km/hr in still water if the same boat travels upstream with the speed of stream 8 km/hr

So,speed of boat = 10km/hr

So,speed of stream = 8km/hr

We know,

Upstream speed = (Speed of boat - Speed of stream)

For example if speed of boat is x km/hr and speed of stream is y km/hr.

Therefore, upstream speed = x - y

Here x = 10 \: km/hr

and y = 8km/hr.

So, required upstream speed

= 10-8 = 2km/hr

→ Time take to cover 12 km in upstream =

 \frac{12}{2} = 6hours

The required result will be 6 hours.
