Given :

Volume - 15 L

Mass of nitrogen - 50.0 g

Temperature - 25° C

To Find : Pressure in atm

Solution :

Here we will apply ideal gas equation:

PV= nRT

P = Pressure

V = Volume

n = no. of moles

R = Gas constant

T = Temperature

Gas constant = 0.0821 l atm per mol per K

Temperature in Kelvin = 298 K

Molar mass of nitrogen = 28

No. of moles of nitrogen =

50 \div 28 = 1.786

Putting in equation :

p \times 15 = 1.786 \times 0.0821 \times 298

p = 2.913

Therefore, pressure is 2.913 atm.
