A still rod 25mm diameter and 2 m long is subjected to an exial pull of 45KN.Find-
I. Stress
II. Strain
III. Elongation
Take E=2×10^5 N/mm^2.​

1) stress = F / A

= 9.1 ×10^-7 N /m²

2 ) Strain = change in length / Initial length

Change in length = F × L / 2 A E

[ here , E is modulus of Elasticity ]

OR

Modulus of elasticity = Stress / strain

Strain = 4.5 × 10 ²

3 ) Elongation = Strain × Original length

= 9 × 10 ² m
