a stone and the earth attact each other with an equal and opposite force why then we see only the stone falling towards the earth but not the earth rising towards the stone

It's depends on whose force is greater.
As you know ,
Gravity that is force of earth is greater than the force of stone .
so Earth attracts stone.
earth can't attracts towards stone.

it's becoz of the inertia of the object , we know what inertia is .it depends on mass , also stone has the neglected mass as compared to earth therefore the inertia of the stone less than the earth, they attract equally but becoz of there mass difference the earth doesn't move but the stone likely to fall towards earth
also here force of gravity works
