Let it will take T time to cover the whole length

so we can say

H = \frac{1}{2}gT^2

now in last 0.2 s it will cover 6 m

H - 6 = \frac{1}{2}g(T - 0.2)^2

now by above two equations

\frac{1}{2}gT^2 - 6 = \frac{1}{2}g(T-2)^2

\frac{1}{2}g(2T - 2)(2) = 6

T = 1.3 s

now the height of the tree is

 H = \frac{1}{2}*10*1.3^2

H = 8.45 m
