A stone dropped from the window of a stationary railway carriage takes 2 seconds to reach the ground. In what time

the stone will reach the ground when the carriage is moving with constant velocity of 80 km/h.Please solve the numerical properly.​

hey there!

the time taken to reach the ground is independent of the velocity of the train.

this is because the stone will have a horizontal velocity component equalling the velocity of the train, however its vertical component is under the influence of only gravity. Hence no change in the time taken.
