A stone falls freely under gravity . It covers a distance of h1 and h2 in first 2 seconds and in the next 4 seconds, respectively. The ratio of h1 and h2 is
(1) 1 : 5

Distance covered by the particle in first 2 secs is h1
Distance covered by the particle in next 4 secs is h2
Since freely falling the initial velocity is zero
That is u = 0
Acceleration due to gravity is 10
Using the third formula of equation of motion
s = ut + (1/2)gt²
At t1=2 secs
h1 = (0)(2) +((1/2)(10)(2)²)
h1 = 20m
At t2=4 secs
h2 = [ut1 + ((1/2)a(t1)²)] - [ut2 + ((1/2)a(t2)²)]
h2 =[(0)(4) + ((1/2)(10)(4)²)] -[(0)(2) + ((1/2)(10)(2)²)]
h2= 80 - 20
h2=60m
h1:h2=20:60
h1:h2=1:3
