A stone is allowed to fall from a height of 10 m. Calculate final velocity of that object when it touch the ground.

The given case is of free fall:

Height (s) =10m

Since the body is allowed to fall.

u=0 m/s

And Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8

Using third equation of motion

v ² - u ² = 2as

v ² - 0 = 2 * 9.8 *10

v² =196

v = 14 m/s

Hence the final velocity of ball when it just touches the ground is 14 m/s
