Hi, Good Morning

We, know that distance formula is

=Ut +1/2at^2...(1)

Here ,the stone is fall from certain height

So, it's initial velocity is zero I,e at rest.

We knew that acceleration is 9.8m/s-2

Here Time taken is 8s to reach the ground.

So, putting the value in equation (1)

We got,

Height=0×t+1/2×9.8×8^2

=4.9×64

=313.6m

So, Your answer is 313.6m

solution

given: initial velocity = 0 m/s

          time taken = 8s

          since, it fall under earth's gravitation, thus, accelaration is 10m/s2.

as, we know that,

   accelaration = (v - u)/t

               10      = (v - 0)/8 = v/8

            8 * 10    =  v

therefore, final velocity is 80 m/s

now, by velocity formula,

        v =height(distance travelled by stone) /t                                                                                                                       l        80 = h / 8                                                                                                                     i     8 * 80 = h                                                                                                                          therefore, height of the tower is 640 m.
