\sf{\boxed{\boxed{\green{ANSWER:}}}} \sf \: t = 3.16seconds

\sf{\boxed{\boxed{\pink{GIVEN:}}}}

\sf{height = 50m} \\  \sf{ g =  - 10m \ {s}^{-2}}  \\  \sf{v = 0}

\sf{\boxed{\boxed{\blue{TO\: FIND:}}}}

\sf \: t = ??

\sf{\boxed{\boxed{\red{FORMULA}}}}

\sf \:  { {v}^{2}  - u}^{2}  = 2as \\  \sf \: v = u + at

\sf{\boxed{\boxed{\purple{EXPLANATION:}}}}

\sf \:  {0}^{2}  -  {u}^{2}  = 2( - 10) \times 50

\sf \:  {u}^{2}  = 1000

\sf \: u =  \sqrt{1000}  = 10 \sqrt{10}

\sf u= 10(3.16)m {s}^{ - 1}

\sf \: u = 31.6 - 10t

\sf \: 10t = 31.6

\sf \: t = 3.16seconds

Hence it takes 3.16s to reach the bottom of the well.

Given that ,

" A stone is dropped down a deep well from rest. The well is 50 m

deep. How long will it take for the stone to reach the bottom of the well.

( given g = - 10 m/ s² ) "

So ,

Initial velocity , u = 0 m/s

Distance , s = - 50 m [ Due to upwards ]

Time , t = ? s

Acceleration due to gravity , a = - 10 m/s²

Use 2nd equation of motion ,

s = ut + ¹/₂ at²

⇒ s = 0 (t) + ¹/₂ gt²

⇒ - 50 = ¹/₂ ( -10 ) t²

⇒ - 50 = - 5 t²

⇒ 5 t² = 50

⇒ t² = 10

t = 3.16 s

So , Time taken for the stone to reach the bottom of the well is 3.16 seconds.
