The answer is 10 m/s²

GIVEN

A stone is dropped freely from 45m height of the tower, its reaches the ground in 3second.

TO FIND

The acceleration due to gravity.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

Let the acceleration due to gravity = g

Initial velocity of ball = 0 m/s (Free fall)

Time taken to reach the ground = 3 seconds

Height of the tower = 45 meters

Applying second equation of motion;

S = ut + (1/2) × g× t²

Putting the values in the above formula we get;

45 = 0 + (1/2) × 9g

45 = 4.5g

g = 45/4.5 = 10m/s²

Hence, The answer is 10 m/s²
