a stone is dropped from a certain height which can reach the ground in 5 seconds if the stone is stopped after 3 seconds of its fall and then allowed to fall again then the time taken by the stone to reach the ground for the remaining distance is( g=10 m/s^2)​

a stone is droppped and can reach ground in 5 sec

we know ,

Height = 0.5 * gravity * time² ( for free falling)

gravity = 10 m/s²

time = 5 sec

SO, height = 0.5* 10*5*5 = 125 m

=====================================

NOW , by question , it was stopped after 3 sec

so distance travelled in 3 sec,

height = 0.5 * 10 *3 *3 =45 m

================================

Remaining height = 125 - 45 = 80 m

by problem,

=> h = 0.5 * g * t²

=> 80 = 0.5*10* t²

=> t² = 16

=> t = √16 = 4 sec
