u can calculate the time taken by it from 3rd equation of motion ,
s = ut + at^2/2
given the stone is dropped so its initial velocity(u) is 0 , s = h
so ,
h = 0(t) + at^2/2
h = at^2/2
2h = at^2
√[2h/a ] = t
∴ time taken by it to reach ground is √[ 2h/a]
