Initial velocity of a the stone , u = 0 ( dropped from height )

Height, h = 20 m

Acceleration due to gravity,

g = 10m/s square

Therefore, by using Third Equation of Motion :

v^2 - u^2 = 2gh

we get,

v^2 - 0^2 = 2 × 10 x 20

v^2 = 400

v = 20 m/s i.e. speed with which stone hits the ground.
