Explanation:

GIVEN:

A STONE IS DROPPED FROM A HEIGHT OF 500 M.

THEREFORE,

INITIAL VELOCITY =0 M/S

HEIGHT =500 M

ACCELERATION DUE TO GRAVITY = 10 M/S^2

TO FIND:

TIME TAKEN TO FALL AND FINAL VELOCITY.

FORMULA USED:

1. s=ut+1/2at^2.

2.v=u+gt

CALCULATION:

FIRST FINDING TIME WITH ;

=>S=UT+1/2AT^2

=>500=0×T+1/2×10×T^2

=>500=0+5T^2

=>500/5=T^2

=>100=T^2

=>T=10 SECONDS

NOW CALCULATING FINAL VELOCITY BY;

=V=U+gt

=V=0+100

=V=100 m/s.
