A stone is dropped from a height of 80 m. Find
the time taken by stone to cover this distance
and velocity with which it hit the ground. ​

Given;

Distance(height)=80m

Therefore, using equation 2nd of motion,

s=ut+(1/2)at², we get;

80=(0)(t)+(1/2)(10)(t²)

=>80=(1/2)(10)(t²)

=>80=(5)(t²)

=>80/5=t²

=>16=t²

=>√16=t

t=4s

Therefore, time taken by the object to reach the ground is 4 seconds.
