A stone is dropped from rest down a well and a splash is heard after 3.5 seconds. What was the velocity of the stone as it hit the water? What was the average velocity over the 3.5 seconds? How deep is the well?

Using Third law of Motion,

v = u +at

It will convert into :

v = u + gt

v= 0+ 9.8(3.5) = 34.3 m/s
