v = u + at
v = 0 + (9.8)(2)
v = 19.6ms
s = ut + 1/2at^2
40j = (0)t + 1/2 (10)t^2
40/5=t^2
8^1/2 = t
at this time speed can be calculated
using v = u + at
v = 0 + 10(8^1/2)
v = 20(2^1/2) ms

sowmy635: plz explain me again...
sowmy635: i dont understand hw u got acceleration
smritisaraswat: aceleration due to gravity is (g) which is 9.8 or 10 approx. this acc. is taken in a freefall motion as in ur question . the gravitational pull acting on us or on any object under the atmosphere of earth is g .
sowmy635: ooh okay
sowmy635: thnk u soo muck :)
smritisaraswat: freefall motion is taken when a body falls without any force or velocity aplied
smritisaraswat: pleasures all mine ;-)
sowmy635: s.. i understand
smritisaraswat: in which standard u r
sowmy635: 10
