a stone is dropped from the top of the base of height 300 into a pound at the base of the tower. when will the sound of the splash be heard at the top? velocity of sound=340 metre per second and g=9.8 meter per second square

Answer:

The time at which stone hits the ground can be found by s=ut+ 1/2gt^2(square)

∴300=0×t+1/2×9.8×t^2

∴t=7.82s

Now, the time for sound to travel 300m is

t=300/340 =0.88s

Therefore, total time will be addition of the two times.

t=7.82+0.88=8.7s
