S(n) = u + 0.5*g*(2n-1)

u = 0 (since the stone is dropped)

24.5 = 4.9*(2n-1)

2n-1 = 5

Solving,vwe get

n = 3s

The total time of fall = 3s

H = 0.5*g*t^2 = 0.5*9.8*9 = 44.1m

The stone was dropped from 44.1m high tower
