when stone is at the highest point,it has maximum potential energy and no kinetic energy .But as it falls down all its potential energy will be converted into kinetic energy.

when it will be about to reach the ground, it's kinetic energy will be maximum and it's potential energy will be zero.

Therefore, we can conclude that, during a free fall of stone, potential energy of stone will be converting into kinetic energy due to its speed at every second.
