A stone is throw vertically upward with an inital velocity of 20m/sec.find the maximum height it reached and the time taken by it to reach the height.(g=10m/sec square).

Given

v= 20 m/s
u=0

a= 10 (because the stone is moving against the gravitational pull)

using newtons equation

v= u+ at
20 = 0 +(10)×t

t= 2 sec



Now again using newtons equation

v2 = u2 + 2as

400=0 + 2×10×s

s= 20 m
