a stone is thrown down vertically from the top of a tower with an initial velocity of 10m/sec. it stikes the ground after 2 seconds calculate the velocity with which the stone strickes the ground and the hight of the tower (take g =10m/s².)

Answer:

Explanation:

Given, u=10m/s ; t=2 s

          g(acceleration due to gravity)=10m/s^2 (given)

now by the 1st equation of motion

v=u+at

v=10+ 10 x 2

v=10+20

v=30m/s

now for the height of the tower we will use the 2nd equation of motion

s=ut+at^2/2

s = 10 x 2 +10 x 2^2/2

s = 20+ 10 x 4 / 2

s = 20 + 40/2

s= 20+20

s = 40 m

Hope, it helps
