\Large{\textbf{\underline{\underline{According\;to\;the\;Question}}}}

Given,

u = 5 m/s (Initial velocity)

Also,

a = -10 m/s² (Acceleration) [ (-) is used due to retardation]

v = 0 (Final Velocity)

Using 1st Equation of motion :-

v = u + at

⇒ 0 = - 5 + (- 10) × t

⇒ - 5 = - 10 t

⇒ 5/10 = t

⇒ t = 1/2

⇒ t = 0.5 seconds

Also,

Using 3rd Equation of motion :-

v² - u² = 2as

(0)² - (5)² = 2 × (-10) × s

⇒ -25 = -20 × s

⇒ -25/-20 = s

⇒ s = 1.25 m
