A stone is thrown in vertically upward direction with velocity of 5m/s if the acceleration of the stone during the motion is 10m/s^2 in downward direction what will be height attained by stone and how much time will it take to reach there

Given

u=5m/s

v=0

a=-10ms^-2

by the kinematic equation we have,

v = u + at

0 = 5 + (-10)t

t = 0.5 sec

by another kinematic equation we have,

s = ut + 1/2at^2

s= 5×0.5 +1/2(-10)(0.25)

s= 2.5 -1/2(2.5)

s=1.25m

so t=0.5 & s=1.25m
