Explanation:

When the stone is thrown, you are applying energy on the stone which becomes the stone's kinetic energy and goes upwards.

At half the height k.e and p.e are both 1/2.

When it reaches the highest point it stops and hence gains p.e due to its position , i.e. height.

When it is coming down again, p.e  and k.e are both 1/2 again

And when it finally hit's the ground it has full k.e
