A stone is thrown upwards with an initial velocity of 35m/s to cover a height of 50m. Calculate the time taken to cover this height. Take g=10m/s^2.​

s=ut+at^2/2

50=35t-gt^2/2

50=35t-5t^2

Solving for t we get t= -2 or +5

Discard negative value we get t=5 sec
