ANSWER

A stone is thrown vertically upwards with an initial velocity of 14m/s.

since the velocity at top is zero.

t=

a

v−u

=

9.8

14

=1.43sec

The time taken by the stone to strike the ground will be 2t=2×1.43

t

=2.86sec
