Given infomrations are

• v- 0

• u-49m/s

• a-10m/s2s2

Using the formula v=u + at. We get,

t=v−uav−ua

=−49−9.8−49−9.8

=5 s

S=ut + 0.5at2t2

=49 x 5 + (-4.9) x5252

= 122.5 m

Time taken to go up = time taken to come down

Therefore, time taken to come down

= 5 sec

Total time taken

= 10 sec

And the distance will be

= 122.5 m
