At the highest point, the KE of the stone will be equal to zero (0).
[Since KE = ½ mv² = ½ m(0)² = 0.]
Reason: This is because an opposing force acts on the stone, that is, the gravitational force. It will decrease the speed of the object which will lead to 0 KE in the highest point. But if it falls down, the KE will be the highest just before it collides with the ground.

- The work-energy theorem states that, Work done = ∆KE
- The total energy remains conserved. The KE + PE = Total mechanical energy.
- KE is the energy possessed by an object due to the virtue of it's motion.
- PE is the energy possessed by an object due to the virtue of it's position or configuration.
- E_elastic = ½ kx²
