A stone is thrown vertically upwards with a velocity of 10m/s from the edge of a cliff 120m high. How long will it take for a stone to reach the ground at the foot of the cliff?

Firstly

The stone goes upward and then downward , in this process it takes 2 secs



And


Then by,using s=ut + 1/2ut sq


120=10t+1/2×10tsq

120=10t+5tsq

t= 4sec




Therefore total time= 6 secs
