Answer:

80 m

Explanation:

Using eauations of motion:

• v = u + at

• S = ut + (1/2)at²

*where v & u = final & initial velocity, S = displacement, a is acceleration and t is time.

Here,

v = 0 ; u = 40m/s a = - g = -10m/s²

At the highest point, velocity is 0.

So,

= > v = u + at

= > 0 = 40 + (-10)t

= > - 40 = - 10t

= > 4 = t

= > S = ut + (1/2)at²

= > S = (40)4 + (1/2)(-10*4²)

= > S = 160 + (-5*16)

= > S = 160 - 80

= > S = 80 m

Height is 80 m
