Its thrown vertically opposite, so at the highest point the v = 0 m/s.

And u is given as 20 m/s.

Taking g = 10 m/s

Applying third equation of motion,

v= u + 2gs

-{Negative sign of g shows acceleration in opposite direction}.

20 m = s

So object will go upto 20 metres
