A stone is tied with a thread a whirled around over the head with a uniform
speed. Name and define the force that is responsible for uniform circular motion
in this case. What will happen if the thread suddenly breaks? Justify your answer

♧The force which is responsible is centripetal force
# Centripetal force is defined as "the force that is necessary to keep an object moving in a curved path and that is directed inward toward the center of rotation"
# When a stone is going around a circular path, the instantaneous velocity of stone is acting as tangent to the circle. When the string breaks, the centripetal force stops to act. Due to inertia, the stone continues to move along the tangent to circular path. So, the stone flies off tangentially to the circular path.
