Given:-

  • Mass of Stone ,m = 30 kg

  • Height ,h = 500 m

To Find:-

  • Potential Energy ,PE

Solution:-

As we know that the energy possess by body due to its height is called Potential Energy.

And also we know that acceleration due to gravity is 9.8m/s².

Using Formula We get

• PE = mgh

where,

PE is the Potential Energy

m is the mass

g is the acceleration due to gravity

h is the height attained by the body

Substitute the value we get

→ PE = 30 × 9.8×500

→ PE = 3 × 98 × 500

→ PE = 294 × 500

→ PE = 147000 J

→ PE = 1.47 × 10⁵ J

Therefore, the potential energy at given height is 1.47×10 Joules .

=> PE = mgh

g is 10 m/s².

=> PE = 30 × 10 × 500

=> PE = 300 × 500

=> PE = 150000 J

PE is 150000 Joule.
