A stone of mass 1kg is whireled in a horizontal circle attached at the end of 1m long string . if the string makes an angle of 30° with vertical calculate (i) period (ii) centripetal force (g=9.8 m/s)​

Solution :

Mass, m = 1 kg

Radius, r = 1m

Theta = 30°

Now,

°.° F sin theta = mv^2 / r

.°. Centripetal force = 1 × v^2 / r

and

v = √r × g × tan theta

v = √ 1 × 9.8 × tan 30°

v = 2.37 m/s.

Again,

°.° Centripetal force = mv^2 / r

Centripetal force = 1 × (2.37)^2 / 1

Centripetal force = (2.37)^2

Centripetal force = 5.61 N
