☸ A stone of mass 5 kg is tied to a stone of length 10m is whirled round in a horizontal circle. What is the maximum speed with which the stone can be whirled around if the string can withstand a maximum tension of 200N ?

During movement in vertically circle,,there will be two force which will act on the ball

i) Centripetal force(which will force it to move towards the centre)

ii) gravitational force(mg)(in downaward direction)

The tension in the string will totally depend on the strength of centripetal force

As the Centripetal force ,try to move the ball toward the centre,there is force which acts o opposite to it,,and maintain the equilibrium (distance of ball from the centre,will be always same)

so,we can write

T =  \frac{m {v}^{2} }{r}  \\ here \: r = l = 10m \\ 200 = 5 \times  \frac{ {v}^{2} }{10}  \\ v = 20m/s \\ this \: will \: be \: the \: maximum \: velocity \\ upto \: which \: the \: sring \: can \: move \: in \: a \: circle  \\taking \: the \: mass \:  of \: 5kg
