Answer:

Centripetal acceleration = v^2/r

Where 'r' is the radius and

'v' be the speed.

The centripetal acceleration, α = (2)^2/0.5 = 4/0.5 = 8 ms^-2

If you wonder why I wrote 0.5 it's becoz I converted all the quantities to SI unit system Thus 50cm = 0.5m

The stone is being rotated in a circular path. So, Centripetal force must be acting on it. (As circular motion is not possible without centripetal force).
