A stone of mass 500 gm is at rest.when a force is applied to the stone it covers 400cm in 2sec calculate the force applied to the stone

solution:

we know that,

f = ma

 = m*v/t  ....( a= velocity/ time)

v= displacement/time

v= 4/2

∴  v=2

∴ f = 0.5 × \frac{2}{2}  

∴ f = 0.5 N

or

f= 0.5×100000

∵ 1 newton = 100000 dyne

∴f=50000 dyne
