     g = 10 m/s²

using equations of motion

1) 2as = v²-u²

         = v²-u²/2a

         = v² / 2a

         = [20m/s]² / 2[10 m/s²]

         = 400 m²/s² / 20 m/s²

         = 20 m

2) a = v-u/t

    t = v-u /a

 but u= 0 m/s

   t = v /a

     = 20 m/s / 10 m/s²

     = 2 s

  another method

  s = ut +1/2at²

  40 m = 1/2[10 m/s²]t²

  t² = 20m * 2 / 10 m/s²

  t² = 4 s²

  t = ²√4s²

  t = 2 s
