Given that, diameter(d) of cylinder is 1.4 m and length(h) is 8 m.
⇒ the radius of sphere(r) = radius of cylinder
⇒ surface area of tank = surface area of cylinder + 2(surface
Area of hemisphere)
= 2πrh + 2(2πr2)
= 2πr(h + 2r)
= 41.36 m2
⇒ the radius of sphere(r) = radius of cylinder
⇒ surface area of tank = surface area of cylinder + 2(surface
Area of hemisphere)
= 2πrh + 2(2πr2)
= 2πr(h + 2r)
= 41.36 m2

external diameter of the cylinder is 1.4m. and the length of the cylinder is 5m.
radius r =1.4/2=0.7 m., h=5m.
curved surface area of the cylinder=
area of the base of the tank=
curved area of the hemisphere=
total outer area to be painted =22+15.4+30.8=68.2 metre square
cost of painting=10*68.2=682/-
