let the length of the edge of the cube be x. therefore

the volume of the water when the tank is full = the volume of the tank

x³=√15.625
x=³√15.625
x=2.5m

the area of the base of the tank = 2.5*2.5=6.25 sq m

present depth of the water is 1.3 m.

therefore present volume of the water = area of the base * depth

=6.25*1.3

=8.125 cubic m.

thus the volume of the used water = volume of the tank - present volume of the water

=15.625-8.125

=7.5 cubic m.
