A store sells only 2 types of bottles : Sipper bottle priced at $6 per bottle and Normal bottle priced at $5 per bottle. If Shanaya buys 8 bottles that cost her $45, how many sipper bottles did she buy?​

Let Sipper Bottle be x and Normal Bottle be y

x + y = 8 ------- (1)

6x + 5y = 45 -------(2)

=> x = 8 - y

Substituting x in (2)

=> 48 - 6y + 5y = 45

=> 48 - y = 45

=> - y = - 3

Therefore y = 3

Substituting y in (1)

x + 3 = 8

Therefore x = 5
