Given :  A store sells two brands of applesauce.

brand A: 24 1/2 ounces 2/3 cup per serving

brand B: 30 2/3 ounces 3/4 cup per serving

To Find : Which brand provides more servings?

A.  Brand A because it provides 4 19/32 servings.

B.  Brand A because it provides 16 1/3 servings.

C.  Brand B because it provides 5 1/9 servings.

D.  Brand B because it provides 23 serving

Solution:

brand A: 24 1/2 ounces  = 49/2

2/3 cup per serving

Total Servings =  (49/2)(2/3)

= 49/3

= 16 1/3  servings.

brand B:  30 2/3 ounces  = 92/3

3/4 cup per serving

Total Servings = (92/3) (3/4)  = 23

= 23 Servings

23 > 16 1/3

Brand B provides more servings
