Once upon a time a young boy named Alam lived in a border village in the state of Jammu. His village was situated on the top of a mountain. There were not many houses in the village. The chief source of subsistence was agriculture. His family comprised three members only; his father, mother and he himself.
Alam was a unique boy. He had all the agreeable qualities in his character. He was known far and wide for his love for animals. He had saved many innocent creatures on many occasions. The animals also reciprocated his love. If in the village any situation arose in which any animal became unmanageable, he was called immediately. And within moments, he would pacify the animal.
Once he was returning home in the gloaming. As he was climbing the mountain, he heard the yelping of a pup in trouble. He forgot everything! His only thoughts were to save this pup in trouble. As he focused on the yelps, he was able to locate the exact spot from where the SOS was coming from. As he went to the edge of the slope, he saw a very adorable puppy dangling in the bushes, which could fall anytime almost 200 feet below in the valley. Alam, risking his own life, succeeded in rescuing the puppy.
