A story on the proverb “A drowning man will always clutch at a straw” is as under:

It is a story of a normal boy who aspires for not big dreams but for the dreams sufficient to fulfil his and his family’s daily needs. His father died when he was in Std. 5th. His mother raised him and his sister with the family pension received from the Government. Both completed their studies but the question for him was : Now What? What should I do after 12th so that I can start earning as soon as possible so that my family can live better. He joined college and also a part time job to support his Mother.

During his final year, he had applied for ground staff interview in Air India. Luckily his application was selected. He had to go to Mumbai for interview. It is truly said that a drowning man will always clutch at a straw. This means that though there is no possibility of success, a person tries to get out of the situation and grabs any opportunity, he gets. This boy had no sources or resources but he grabbed his only opportunity by managing the situation. He borrowed money and went Mumbai. Finally, he got selected with the grace of God and he was a lot happy.
